Oleg Larionov obtained his PhD degree from the University of Göttingen under the tutelage of Prof. Armin de Meijere. In 2010, after postdoctoral studies with Prof. Alois Fürstner at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung and Prof. E. J. Corey at Harvard University, he joined the faculty at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he is now Professor and Robert A. Welch Distinguished University Chair in Chemistry. His research interests focus on the development of synthetic methods for the construction of carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bonds, transition metal catalysis, organoboron and organosulfur chemistry, and organic photochemistry.
